How planning optimization projects workFind the planning potential. Realise the value in operation.

A planning model alone does not create value. We go the whole way with you: clarify whether it pays off, prove it in a pilot, roll it out and support the first real planning rounds. After each stage you decide whether and how to continue.

The way

Three stages, seven steps.

You start where you are today. A shared understanding of goals, terms, rules and data is always needed, even when technology or software are already chosen.

  1. Stage 1Clarify

    1. UnderstandGoals, terms, rules, data, bottlenecksEntry: Planning Snapshot, Assessment or Strategy
    2. AssessPotential, business case, feasibility, risks

    DecisionIs it worth it?

  2. Stage 2Build

    1. DesignPlanning model, rules, data, interfacesEntry: training or model review
    2. PilotReal scenarios, value proven before much is invested
    3. Roll outIntegration, training, go-live

DecisionDoes the pilot deliver what it promised?

  3. Stage 3Run

    1. StabiliseAccompany the first real planning rounds, sharpen the rulesEntry: support after go-live
    2. ImproveWatch the KPIs, take in new requirements

CycleWhen operations change, we adapt the rules and the plan.

Decisions, not autopilot

Every stage ends with a clear recommendation.

Every stage has value of its own. You do not have to buy the whole way, and sometimes the best advice is not to invest in software.

Do not investThe value does not carry the effort, or an organisational change helps more.
Create the prerequisitesData, terms, processes or responsibilities need to be clarified first.
Run a pilotA key assumption is tested with real data.
Roll out the solutionValue and risk justify the investment.
Stabilise and improveThe solution runs, now its value grows day by day.

Ways into clarification

Three depths, depending on how sure your decision has to be.

All three end with a recommendation, with a fixed scope and an agreed date for result and decision. They differ in depth and reliability.

01

Planning Snapshot

Reliabilityfirst orientation

For whomA clearly defined question, a smaller budget, a first look from outside.

ResultFirst potential, critical assumptions, concrete starting points and the next sensible step.

02

Planning Assessment

Reliabilityinvestment decision

For whomYou want to know whether and where a solution pays off.

ResultTested assumptions from interviews and workshops, a business case and priorities.

03

Planning Strategy

Reliabilitytarget picture and roadmap

For whomSeveral areas, large impact, management and departments together.

ResultTarget picture, solution approach, architecture and a prioritised roadmap.

After go-live

Go-live is not the end.

Many projects stop when the software runs. Then planners correct the plan by hand, and the value fades away. It only appears when they trust the plan. That is why we support the first real planning rounds, sharpen rules and weights, and measure whether the goals are met.

Value with and without support after go-live Schematic: up to go-live both paths are the same. If the project ends at go-live, the value flattens and drops. With support in operation it rises clearly. The area in between is value left on the table without support. Pilot Go-live Without support, this value is left on the table. With support in operation Project ends at go-live Clarify Build Run Value Schematic illustration, not measured values.

Other ways in

Not everyone starts from zero.

Your team wants to build it

Timefold training

Your team learns to build planning models itself. Along the way it often becomes clear where model, architecture or rollout still need support.

There is code already

Model review and rescue

You already have code with Timefold or OptaPlanner? The technology is set, but rules and model may be incomplete. We review, speed it up and get it on track.

Entry at Build · Design
The solution already runs

Support after go-live

The solution runs, but the plan is still corrected by hand. We support fixed planning cycles until trust and KPIs are right.
